About Me

Javier Castaño was born in Madrid in 1974. At the age of fourteen, he already showed a strong passion for flamenco guitar and began playing the instrument. The feeling grew so much that, at the age of twenty-two, he began his career as a guitar maker, taking several courses with the master Rafael López Porras in Cádiz. In the following years, he continued working with Rafael in the courses he taught, helping and exchanging opinions, experiences, and techniques with various guitar makers who attended the courses.

In 2008, he began working fully at the Madrid school. It was at this point that his career as a luthier took on a new meaning, as he acquired knowledge and techniques from this great school of masters. In 2014, he began working directly with the Conde Atocha house in Madrid until 2022.

Currently, Javier Castaño is a luthier fully dedicated to his profession.
